The purpose of Predictive Behavior Recognition is to try to anticipate the potential danger of a particular individual by recognizing patterns of behavior.
It has been developed into a science by the researchers and investigators of the FBI's National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime in Quantico, Virginia. Predictive Behavior Recognition can predict how the perpetrator may react to certain investigative strategies, and can determine the likelihood of guilt, or lack thereof. It can also identify the strengths and weaknesses of the subject, and how he or she will react to the stress of an interview.
