Risk can take many forms, but the net effect is danger to executives, employees, computer systems, physical facilities, and other sensitive areas. All of which can have a major economic impact on an organization.

Through the Contingency Planning Division of Protective Countermeasures & Consulting, Inc, leading experts in the field of Emergency Management have been brought together to help your organization develop and implement the plans and strategies necessary to ensure the continuity of your business in the event of a catastrophe. Our team consists of former members of the New York City Emergency Management Agency, who bring their combined real-life experience and expertise to assist you.

Our team is available to analyze specific facilities, make a Risk Management Assessment, conduct a Terrorism Assessment, and then train your company to respond effectively in the event of a catastrophe.

  • Basic Awareness
Basic Awareness is a presentation designed for diverse employees at facilities that are potential targets for terrorism. This presentation covers the general aspects of terrorism and dangers that are present from within the organization; information to recognize signs and symptoms of a likely terrorist attack; and addresses possible dissemination devices and self-protection measures. This training session includes a pamphlet for the participants and a "Call-takers Checklist" for future reference.
  • Responder Awareness
The Responder Awareness course is designed for initial emergency responders. The goal of this course is to train emergency responders to recognize the signs and symptoms of an incident, to protect themselves in the event of an incident, and to make the proper notification once the incident takes place. This course covers:
    • Introduction to the terrorism threat
    • Radiological, biological, and chemical materials and weapons
    • Dissemination devices
    • Responder Actions
Upon completion, this course enables participants to recognize the signs and symptoms of chemical and biological agents, nuclear materials, potential devices used for dissemination, and defensive actions to safeguard themselves and others. Prior to enrollment in the Responder Awareness course, participants should have a basic understanding of the principles and procedures used to respond to a hazardous material incident or have taken the Basic Awareness program.
  • Responder Operations
The Emergency Responder Operations course is designed specifically for incident response teams in a defensive mode. This course covers:
    • Responder actions at the operations level
    • Chemical downwind hazard analysis
    • Personal protection
    • Introduction to detection and identification
    • Emergency decontainment procedures
    • Practical exercises
Upon completion, this course enables participants to recognize the technical aspects of incidents, and the defensive actions required for responders to protect themselves and their community.
  • Seminar Officials Workshop
This is a four-hour seminar that includes a two-hour lecture, and a two and a half hour training session for the CEO, COO, and other senior leaders. The objective of this workshop is to instruct and inform the senior leadership of the following:
    • Employ an integrated planning, training, and exercise effort among departments, mulit-jurisdictions and mutual aid partners for response to a terrorist attack or natural disaster
    • Recognize probable risk and threat situations and the implications these situations will have on the organization
    • Interaction with local, state, and federal agencies so operational assets can be assembled, assigned, and employed with maximum effectiveness
    • Interact with the media to allay public fears and maintain public confidence
  • Facilitated Table Top Exercises
The table top exercises provide program participants with the opportunity to apply the knowledge they've acquired to real-life scenarios. Through these exercises, corporations can employ the proper actions as required in their Emergency Operations Plans.
