Facilitated Discussion Workshops for
Flu Pandemic Planning Announced
NEW ROCHELLE, NY, May 12, 2006 – Protective Countermeasures Inc. today announced the creation of a new facilitated discussion workshop for companies that want to develop plans for a potential avian influenza pandemic. Unlike tabletop exercises, which are expensive to develop and can take all day, facilitated discussions, which are conducted on-site at company offices, provide all the benefits of a tabletop exercise without all the ancillary activities typically associated with such a program. Discussions optimize executive time while obtaining their buy-in and support. No role playing is required, as participants actually perform their normal jobs. Each session is custom-tailored for clients, and can be created in days, not months. Sessions last about three hours, and pricing is typically about one-third the cost of a full tabletop exercise.

Understanding the issues that are presented to you are critical first steps in proper planning for a pandemic occurrence,” said Sal Lifrieri, President of Protective Countermeasures. “Executives cannot afford to spend all day playing games. The facilitated discussions help them quickly identify the key issues and develop solutions, in just a few hours.
Recently, The Parkfield Group, Inc. of Georgia utilized the new program for an internal review of their vulnerabilities regarding the avian pandemic. “The facilitated discussions provided a detailed view and understanding of issues we would have never considered,” said Dan Forrest, president. “Understanding the issues helped us launch our planning process effectively.
Corporate leaders are frustrated with large pandemic conferences,” Lifrieri said. “The information covered is too broad and generally a sales pitch. They want to know the questions, the issues as they pertain to them, and what solutions are practical.
