  1. Basic Awareness
Basic Awareness is a presentation for diverse employees at potential target facilities. The presentation, presented in layman terms, covers the general aspects of terrorism or danger coming from within the organization; information to recognize such an incident through signs and symptoms; and addresses possible dissemination devices and self-protection measures. Instructional materials include a pamphlet for the participants and a call takers checklist for future reference.
  2. Responder Awareness
Unlike Basic Awareness, the Responder Awareness course is designed for initial emergency responders. These are the first responders to an incident. The goal of this course is to train emergency responders to recognize signs and symptoms of an incident, to protect themselves and make proper notification. This course covers:
    • Introduction to Terrorism Threat
    • Radiological, Biological, Chemical Materials and Weapons
    • Dissemination Devices
    • Responder Actions
Prior to enrollment in the Responder Awareness course, participants should have a basic understanding of principles and procedures used to respond to a hazardous material incident or the Basic Awareness program. Upon completion, participants are able to recognize the signs and symptoms of chemical and biological agents, nuclear materials, potential devices used for dissemination, and defensive actions to safeguard themselves and others.
  3. Responder Operations
The Emergency Responder Operations course is designed specifically for incident response teams in a defensive mode. This course covers:
    • Responder Actions at the Operations Level
    • Chemical Downwind Hazard Analysis
    • Personal Protection
    • Introduction to Detection and Identification
    • Emergency Decontamination Procedures
    • Practical Exercise
Upon completion, participants are able to recognize the technical aspects of incidents, and the defensive actions required for responders to protect themselves and their community.
  4. Facilitated Table Top Exercises
Through the Facilitated Table Top Exercises Program, participants will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge they acquire in useful, real life scenarios. Through these exercises, corporations can apply lessons learned and corrective actions identified in Emergency Operations Plans.
